Raghav Agarwal: President, Salasar Techno Engineering Limited
As president at Salasar Techno Engineering, Raghav Agarwal plays a largely strategic and cross-functional role rather than owning a single P&L vertical. He works closely with the leadership team on Salasar’s diversification across telecom, power transmission, rail electrification and solar infrastructure, while also strengthening internal processes, stakeholder engagement and brand visibility in domestic and global markets.

Agarwal joined Salasar in 2016 as vice president, where his first mandate was building the company’s Cell-on-Wheels vertical from the ground up, alongside a rebranding and digital marketing overhaul that tripled average monthly international leads. He also co-founded a nutraceutical start-up during this period, an experience that taught him to build lean, cross-functional teams outside an established company.
From an industry standpoint, he sees India’s telecom infrastructure story entering a denser, more integrated phase. “The build-out is no longer just about coverage, it is about densification, fiberisation and networks that can carry the load of 5G, and eventually 6G and the internet of things, without being rebuilt every few years,” he says.
He points to Salasar’s integrated manufacturing capacity of over 211,000 metric tonnes per annum across four plants, backed by in-house galvanising, as a genuine differentiator as infrastructure is evaluated more on life cycle value than upfront cost. Growth is also diversifying beyond telecom into power transmission, gas-insulated substations, rail electrification, and international engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), aided by the EMC acquisition, which has strengthened the company’s qualifications for higher voltage 765 kV projects.
Agarwal calls the company’s transition from a strong regional EPC player to one with credible national and international pre-qualifications as the most rewarding part of his role, particularly seeing the EMC amalgamation translate directly into securing the Nepal 400 kV project.
What excites him is watching Salasar’s long-standing tagline, “Building a Stronger Future”, take shape on the ground, whether through a substation in Puducherry or a transmission line in Rwanda.
Agarwal is a mechanical engineer from VIT Vellore with a master’s in international management from ESADE and an MBA from Oxford University.
